Angela  Oliver


Performance Bio:
Angela Oliver is a Los Angeles based and long-time professional Chicago based actor multidisciplinary performing artist. Angela's recent debut at Casa 0101 Theater in “Masao and the Bronze Nightingale" as Charlene (the titular Bronze Nightingale) garnered her high praise. Angela's recent performance in Sacred Fool Theatre’s production of “How We Got On" as Luann was also well received. Her past notable theatrical credits include performances in Second City’s Chicago Mainstage 107th Revue, Second City’s She The People, and Baby Wants Candy's Shamilton: The Improvised Musical. She is a proud ensemble member and contributing writer for SlamFam Ensemble’s “don’t @ me (please)”- an interdisciplinary poetic and hopeful exploration of these “unprecedented times” through poetry and film (currently streaming on OTV| Open Television - a non-profit platform for intersectional artists). Angela is a proud Columbia College Chicago Theatre/Acting alum. (AEA, SAG-e).

Teaching Artist Bio:
Angela Oliver is a multihyphenate actor and professional touring improv/sketch comedy actor and teaching artist with 10+ years of dedicated experience in utilizing improvisation and interdisciplinary performance art to engage, empower and advocate for underrepresented voices.  

Her recent teaching highlights include coaching Get Lit Words Ignite's GLPs, a Los Angeles based esteemed ensemble of talented youth poets, and developing and facilitating improv and theatre arts programming for the Jane Addams Hull House Museum in Chicago (where it all started) with Sills Spolin Theater Works. Angela's teaching philosophy centers around empowering people to trust their gut and become more confident in making innovative choices that are unique to them through participatory interdisciplinary arts. She is a proud teaching and resident director alum of the Annoyance Theatre Chicago and the Chicago Poetry Center.
